Gangamaushi became widow at very young age she has taken lot of troubles to bring up her son Sadashiv who works in the village factory.Sadashiv marries Saku who lost her parents when she was a kid and is taken care by her uncle and aunt.Saku feels that she will get a mother in Gangamaushi but that does not happen an both women have frequent fights. After the birth of their son Anand ,Sadashiv feels things will be better between the two but that does not happen.During one of Anand's birthday's Sadashiv leaves the house in frustration when the two women quarrel he meets with accident and passes away.Saku leaves the house after his death but later she and Gangamaushi patch up to bring up Anand and make him a doctor to full fill Sadashiv's dream.Anand becomes a doctor and marries a wealthy Neela but she feels difficult to adjust in the family leading back to the quarrels.
